DId they *really* happen? it's just too implausible

I beat Sanitarium and VTM: Bloodlines! I liked Sanitarium, and would have made an animated avatar out of the sequence where you rock back and forth on those things in the first real level if it were not for the untimely death of the game's install drive. There is a chance that it is recorded elsewhere though!

I liked Bloodlines too, but I would have liked it a lot more if it weren't set in the World of Darkness. I really don't like the World of Darkness! Products based on or in it give me a dirty feeling, like that feeling you get when you take a bath in someone else's bathtub. Hate goth, hate goths. At the beginning of the game, Tommy is in a bar owned by his girlfriend, Jen."
<sync_swim> the world is at his fingertips
<Moebius2288> He fights aliens and the crippling existentialism of living in Oklahoma

It likes to play with your spatial perception, and there's spirit walk and a spirit guide and a spirit bow and video poker, and all the weapons so far (excepting the melee one) are moderately weird, and a bunch of other shit nobody should care about. Important things: melee weapon, handheld light, whether or not you can turn off the voice acting.

The melee weapon is a pipe wrench. It gets covered in gore when you use it. Alt-fire is an overhead swing.

The handheld light is a lighter. It works like HL's flashlight ("aux power" = heat; obviously more is worse now), only it's not as good over distances (being a lighter) and it lasts a lot longer. I don't think it runs out of fluid.

You can't turn off the voice acting.

I'll probably buy it when it hits $30. Either almost everyone on IRC is a nerd or I only go into channels where almost everyone is a dork because I'm a dork. I'm guessing both.

On that note, I am sick and fucking tired of people attaching so many positive connotations to loseritude. What the hell is the world coming to when you can't insult someone without them taking it as a compliment? I guess people get "loser" and "smart" mixed up in their heads until they're one and the same, then see their loser statuses as proof positive that they're every bit as smart as their parents told them they were. Oh, yes, I've heard the argument that people become social outcasts because others ostracize them because of their intelligence. That's bullshit. There are tons of smart people that are also very social/outgoing/popular.
